This is the John Collins about whom there has been so much confusion among previous researchers. I will present the evidence and give my reasons but it gets rather involved so I ask my readers to bear with me. In my article John Collins; One, Two or Three? John Collins as Salter

In the book Visitation of London John Collins is recorded as “John Collins of London Salter”, the information being given by his son, Daniel Collins. Since we have no indication that John ever lived in London, but rather spent his life in the Ipswich area, this brings up questions. Did he actually LIVE in London, and if so, when? Continue reading
