St. Michael, Framlingham, Suffolk

Richard Golty was born somewhere in the Ipswich area of Suffolk, the eldest son of Edmund and Susan Goltye. According to the memorial plaque in St. Michael’s church, he died at the age of 84 which would have him born in 1594. Since he entered Cambridge in 1613 that would mean he entered college at the age of 19, which was not uncommon.
