RICHARD ROGERS (1551-1618); Puritan divine and author. Rogers was born in Moulsham, a parish of Chelmsford, Essex, and baptised there on 29 June 1551. He matriculated as a sizar at Christ’s College, Cambridge, in 1566 and graduated A.B. in 1571, in which year he was ordained deacon and priest.
